Burnettworks developed a TCP/IP based multicast system under ULTRIX V4.1 (BSD UNIX) to provide a trading floor with real time market updates at Credit Suisse/Bank Boston at Canary Wharf, London, England. The Distributed Computing Environment application used ipc sockets and signal handling to broadcast trading data. Optimization tools such as profile and monitor were applied to achieve a four to one performance increase. Ported a version of the client to SUN OS using TCP/IP sockets.
